What is Military Time?

Military time is a 24-hour clock format that eliminates AM/PM ambiguity. The day runs from 0000 (midnight) to 2359 (one minute before the next midnight). It is the standard format used by the U.S. military, NATO forces, emergency services, hospitals, and aviation worldwide.

Unlike 12-hour time, military time requires no AM or PM qualifier—each time is unique. 1300 can only mean 1:00 PM, never 1:00 AM.
